A boost for tourism in the low season

The alliance Golf East Mallorca "The Luxury Selection" together with the Cala Millor Tourism Consortium launch a new proposal to deseasonalise tourism and raise awareness of the sporting offer in the area.

This Tuesday, 27th July, Stefano Bortolotti, Arnau Sala, Kristoff Both and Sara Virginia Boex, representatives of the alliance Golf East Mallorca "The Luxury Selection" made up of the golf courses Club de Golf Son Servera, Pula Golf Resort, Club de Golf Alcanada and Capdepera Golf have held a meeting with the political leaders of the Tourism Consortium of Cala Millor, Colau Bordal, president of the Consortium, Marga Vives, councillor for Tourism of Son Servera, Inés Batle, president of the Cala Millor bay hotel association and Marcial Rodríguez, manager of the Consortium to present a new project to promote golf tourism in the eastern area 365 days a year.

An idea which, according to the Cala Millor Tourism Consortium, could mean a boost for tourism in the low season. "The 4 golf courses add up to four top level courses, open 365 days a year, which means perfect places to host golf tourists, with a high purchasing power, throughout the year, which would give a boost to tourism also in our low season," explained Colau Bordal, president of the Consortium.

"At a time when we are experiencing a tourist season full of uncertainty, we are committed to products that put Cala Millor and the Levante region on the map and attract European golf enthusiasts. These are tourist products that can be marketed all year round thanks to our island's climate," says Marga Vives, Son Servera's councillor for tourism.

Golf East Mallorca

Golf East Mallorca "The Luxury Selection", aims to work to improve the visibility of the area of eastern Mallorca in the world of golf. Since 2015 the Tourism Consortium of Cala Millor together with the managers of Pula Golf Resort and Club de Golf Son Servera have built this brand that is already known at European level by most Tour Operators and golf players. With the incorporation of two new courses such as the well-known Capdepera Golf and the mythical Club de Golf Alcanada, Golf East Mallorca wants to grow and position itself even more in the European golf market, to be able to compete with destinations such as Costa del Sol, Turkey and Portugal.

The commercial actions developed by Golf East Mallorca will include visits to international fairs, a new website with integrated booking engine, the promotion of online sales, as well as a series of actions to promote the deseasonalization of tourism in this region.

Golf East Mallorca will also work together with the Hotel Association of Cala Millor, Sa Coma and S'illot to bring this sport to those establishments that are aware of the possibility of having a longer tourist season.

The truth is that golf tourism is one of the main focuses of action for this alliance in the eastern part of Mallorca, which also aspires to be able to offer visitors the cultural, natural and gastronomic offer of this region.

This project aims to show the world that public-private collaboration, together with the efforts of the people who make up the project, allows better results to be obtained for all parties involved. If all the tourist attractions of an area work together, they can create a unique destination.
